Why Memory Sports?

There are world championships for virtually every physical sport like Swimming, Boxing, Foot Ball, Cricket, Hockey and Athletics and so on and on and on…

Yet there was no world championships for that most important cognitive function of all, and without which none of the others could exist – MEMORY!

World Memory Sports Council had taken up the initiative to organize Memory Sports across the Globe. In this direction, National Memory Council for India under the aegis of World Memory Sports Council is organizing the Indian National Open Memory Championships – 2018 on 14th October 2018.

Aim:

In 2017, at the World Memory Championships, India bagged the 4th place. All the Memory athletes were appreciated by ShriVenkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India and Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the Indian Central Sports Minister.  A case has been taken up with the Government of India to include “Memory Sports” in the SPORTS MINISTRY along with the other physical sports. This might become a reality very soon.

Towards this, we are going to host World Memory Championships 2020.Meanwhile, the World Memory Sports Council for India is committed to bring all the Indian Memory athletes under one umbrella, promote memory sports in the country and bring up the standard of Indian Memory athletes performance in various competitions.
