SquadronLeader Jayasimha, The President World Memory Sports Council for India announced that the 10th Indian National Memory Championship-2019 will take place on 12thand 13th October 2019 (Saturday &Sunday) in Bengaluru (India).
The 10th Indian National Open Memory Championship 2019 is spread over 2 days as prominent guests are likely to attend the opening and closing ceremony and also to give enough time for the Media to interact with the winners.
The venue is SJC Institute of Technology, Chickballapur (On Bengaluru – Hyderabad Express Highway), Bengaluru – 562101. (50 Kms North of Bengaluru City and 20 Kms from Bengaluru International Airport).
For this 10th Indian Memory Championship, the Chief Patron would be Sri Sri Sri Dr NirmalanandanathaMahaswamiji, President, SACST.
Wing Commander Ranjit Kumar Mandal, the Principal of BGS World School, Chickballapur would be the head of the organising Committee.
The Chief Arbiter of World Memory Sports Council Mr Phil Chambers and Eight times World Memory Champion & Chief of Ethics Committee WMSC .Mr Dominic O’brien from UK will be attending the Indian Memory Championships 2019.
Many prominent Guests are likely to attend the Opening and Closing Ceremony
Why Memory Sports?
There are world championships for virtually every physical sport like Swimming, Boxing, Foot Ball, Cricket, Hockey and Athletics and so on and on and on…
Yet there was no world championships for that most important cognitive function of all, and without which none of the others could exist – MEMORY!
World Memory Sports Council had taken up the initiative to organize Memory Sports across the Globe. In this direction, National Memory Council for India under the aegis of World Memory Sports Council is organizing the 10thIndian National Open Memory Championships – 2019 on 12thand 13thOctober 2019.

The Indian Open National Memory Championship- 2019 will be organized under the following categories :
Kids : Age 12 years or under. Born in 2007 or after
Junior : Age 13 to 17 years : Born 2001 – 2006
Adults : Age 18 to 59 years : Born 1959 – 2000
Senior : Age 60 years and above : Born before 1959
Disciplines :
There will be overall 10 disciplines for winning the Memory Championships:
- Memorising Names and Faces
- Memorising Binary Numbers
- Memorising Random Numbers
- Memorising Abstract Images
- Memorising Speed Numbers
- Memorising Historic / Future Dates
- Memorising Random Playing Cards
- Memorising Random Words
- Memorising Spoken Numbers
- Memorising Speed Cards
There will be marks allotted for each discipline. The Memory Athlete with the highest overall score of these 10 disciplines will be declared as the Indian Memory Champion.
The Highlights of the 10thIndian National Open Memory Championship 2019:
- The Winner of National Memory Championship-2019 will be awarded the title, “Indian National Memory Champion – 2019”.
- There is a prize money of Rs 1.75 Lakhs allocated for the overall top three winners. The Overall topper will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000/-, the First Runner up would get Rs 50,000/- and the Second Runner up would get Rs 25,000/-.
- “Certificate of Participation” in National Memory Championship -2019 will be awarded to all the contestants.
- The contestants would be awarded World Memory Rankings depending on their performance and participation in the Indian Memory Championship is mandatory to compete at the World Memory Championship to be held in Wuhan (China) London in December 2019.
- Mr Phil Chambers, Chief Arbiter World Memory Sports Counciland Eight times World Memory Champion & Chief of WMSC Ethics Committee Mr Dominic O’brienand many other celebrities and guests will be present on the Championship day.
- Popular Memory Trainers from India Mr Pavan Bhattad, Mr JSP Raj, Mr Pradeep Acharya, Dr Manjunath and others will personally supervise the Championship.
- The participants will get to meet, interact and learn from the best Memory athletes from India and abroad.

The championship is open-to-all Indian and Foreign Nationals to compete in the Kids, Junior, Adult and Senior Category. The Championship Registration fee is Rs 6,000/-. Arbiter’s Training :
An Arbiter’s Training will be conducted by Mr Phil Chambers, the Chief Arbiter World Memory Sports Council on 11th October 2019 in Bengaluru. Those who are interested to be an arbiter and get Level I arbiter certificate may contact Squadron Leader Jayasimha on 98660 18989
Competition Schedule :
The competition is spread over 2 days. It will begin on 12th October 2019, Saturday at SJC Institute of Technology, Chickballapur, Bengaluru at 8 am and would culminate with an award ceremony at6 pm on 13th October 2019, Sunday. The reporting time at the venue for the participants would be 7 am on 12th October 2019.

Training :
Participation without preparation means no value addition. With an estimate that the contest would have three hundred plus trained participants, the contest would definitely be intense. Every participant is hence suggested to undergo training before taking part in the contest.
