Indian National Open Memory Championships – 2017 (15 October 2017, Sunday in Hyderabad, India)

Attention all Memory Athletes in India:

I have just come back from Shenzhen, China after taking over as the President of World Memory Sports Council for India.

From now-on-wards, We are going to initiate a lot of activities which will help promote Memory Sports in a big way in India.

In this regard, here is the first announcement regarding Memory Championship 2017.

This year, Indian National Open Memory Championships – 2017 will be held on 15th October 2017, Sunday in Hyderabad (India).

The venue will be intimated shortly.

Mr Phil Chambers, Chief Arbiter of World Memory Sports Council and Mr David Zhang, the President of World Memory Sports Council for Asia- Pacific Region are likely to attend this year’s Indian Memory Championships.

Besides, we are expecting lot of competitors from abroad coming this year to India to compete in the Indian Open Memory Championship. It will be good opportunity for the Indian Memory athletes to interact and learn from foreign delegates.

The Prize money would be Rs 1,00,000/- for the Winner, Rs 50,000/- for the First Runner Up, Rs 25,000/- for the Second Runner Up.

The Entry Fee for participation will be Rs 5000/-

This is to inform all the Indian Memory athletes that participation in Indian National Open Memory Championship is mandatory to take part in the World Memory Championship. From this year, WMSC will not accept any direct registrations. All the competitors from respective countries are to be recommended by the National Memory Sports Council basing on their National Memory Championship Scores.

The National Memory Council of India (NMCI) website will be ready soon so that you can register for the competition.

This year NMCI will specially conduct Memory Training for the Championship for the Participants and the Arbiters as well. This will enhance the standard of the National Memory Championships. The training schedule details will be intimated in due course of time.

We are also likely to have City Memory Championships and State Memory Championships from this year. Those who are interested to organise memory championships under the aegis of NMCI in their cities before the October 2017- National Memory Championships may contact Squadron Leader Jayasimha at the earliest.
